Kids Art Activity: How to Make Recycled Robots and Animals

 

You can find inspiration for art anywhere – including your recycling bin! If you’re looking for a fun art activity for your kids, try this creative project that uses cardboard, bottles, egg cartons, and whatever you have on hand to craft one-of-a-kind creatures. This is a Corlears Connected home-learning favorite recommended by our Studio Art Teacher, Christine.

Materials

  • Recycled materials:  cardboard, milk containers, plastic bottles, egg cartons, toilet paper rolls, bottle caps, etc.

  • Glue or tape

  • Scissors

  • Paint or tissue paper

Directions

“Design and create a robot using recycled materials! Think about what this robot could be used for. How could it help you during this time? If it is helpful to you, sketch out your ideas first and then find the objects that you need to complete your vision. Get creative and have fun!” – Christine
